The black and white put to D&D

I always had a problem with the black and white people put on dungeons and dragons players, I myself have played the game for many years I dungeon master for a small group of my friends and I'm proud to say I play the game, and until god proclaims that he wishes me to stop playing then I will keep playing. I am a devoted follower of god I always will be, I'm a good man I try hard to do the right thing but face it we will never be perfect, but the people that blacklist dungeons and dragons cause they think its evil or that it will stray you from god piss me off to no end, I consider myself mellow for the most part but this is not one of those subjects. People this is the real situation with the game, it is just that a fu**ing game live with it. It pushes the people who play it, it makes them use there imagination, it makes you use your mind to find out and solve problems from a point of view that is not your own but that of the character you play, it works your math skills to work out you attacks and you abilities. And that is just the player the game master has far more to do then the player coming up with missions and enemies they have to fight or find a way to find and destroy before they destroy all that is good for a good group, and find a way to take over for a evil group. This is the way the game is, it won't limit your choices as a player as long as you have a good GM you choose what to do and how to do it and deal with what happens and what happens if you fail.

  1. Without getting to philosophical it is a matter of human weakness, and the understanding of the fallen nature of man, even as it is still present with being a born again Christian. That fallen nature, and Satan the accuser of the brethren, the father of lies, the tempter, is a master exploiter of those weaknesses, in light of D&D it's origins come from the mentality of masking potential harmful ideologies world views, practices into games. Much like drinking though it is not a sin to drink, drunkeness is, and lets face it mainstream society is bringing back the socrates, plato worldviews of hedonism (mindless self indulgence) Stocism (pleasure is the highest form of good) to the glorifying of evil and anything considered decent restraint or moderation is "old ways of living". Society has lowered the bar of expectations so much on the youth of today, our generation that they see us nothing more than beasts driven by what they feed us of sex, drugs, alcohol etc. The Christian is taught to flee immorality not just sexual immorality, things that are potential footholds and tools that old fallen nature which desires in every minute and grandiose way not to please God, or tools that Satan can use to bring us under his influence, D&D has the potential to bring someone into exploring immorality and evil thoughts and actions in general regardless of how each individual group run by the DM sets up "These things are not allowed" rules the general premise of the game is to explore things outside of yourself and "hey its ok its just roleplaying its a game" yet gradually and slowly one's mind can be influence into wicked thoughts in desires in which that person did not intend to go. Ouji boards, seances, one can invite evil spirits into their lives unintentionally. Though I agree with the potential good aspects of it drawing out creativity, imagination, math skills, there are alternative means in which those can be improved upon without the ever so present temptation to explore "the dark side aspects" those dark side aspects which cannot be glossed over and ignored.

  2. I understand your view point of it but you do something that most that proclaim dungeons and dragons is evil the game don't do, one you don't say it's just evil you have your reasons behind it, second you have thought it out you have researched and I know have played the game, you then came to your choice. I respect you all the more for it even if I don't agree with you.
